DIOK Leiden 2008 Easter Tournament 15 a-side & 10 a-side rugby for Men and Women March 21, 22 & 23 The DIOK Rugby Club in Leiden, one of the premier clubs in Holland, is organising a tournament over the Easter weekend from 21st till 23rd of March 2008. Since 1994, LRC DIOK has hosted an annual tournament which has grown from strength to strength over the years and is now ranked as one of the main events in the rugby calendar. The tournament is an established and successful tournament and this will be the 15th year that LRC DIOK has held a tournament at Easter. It is the only international tournament in Holland at Easter that has this history and pedigree. Teams from many different countries like Switzerland, Great Britain, Belgium, France and Germany showed interest in the 2008 edition. Programme Friday March 21st : Opening and welcome party Saturday March 22nd : 15 a-side tournament Sunday March 23rd : 10 a-side tournament Accommodation and Travelling Leiden is 20 km South of Airport Schiphol and 40 km South of Amsterdam. The city has a main Central Station and every hour 5 trains run to or from Amsterdam and the Airport. Leiden is 50 km North of Hook of Holland (seaport) and every hour 2 trains run to and from the seaport via Rotterdam. When walking through Leiden it's rich history still seems very much alive. This is where Rembrandt van Rijn was born and developed his painting skills and where Clusius brought the first Dutch tulips into flower. Leiden has 12 museums, all worth a visit. Leiden's atmosphere is largely determined by the first university in Holland (1575) and its many students contribute to the lively and convivial atmosphere in the city. Leiden is the centre of the Flower tourist industry. Flower exhibitions and tours start early April. It is advisable to make early reservations for Hotel accommodations. Besides all kinds of rolls and fries one can buy a cheap and healthy meal as well. Subscription Subscription is possible until February 15th 2008. Subscription will close at 12 Women's Teams and 8 Men's Teams. Subscription fee is € 80,- per day per team.
