Description

Rugby 7s was founded in Melrose in 1883. 2008 is the 125th Anniversary of the Melrose Sevens and it is proposed to hold an extended tournament with guest teams coming from all over the world. Teams from South Africa, Australia, England and Ireland are amongst the line-up already confirmed for next year’s 125th anniversary of the Melrose Sevens which takes place on 12 April 2008. The Shimlas from the University of the Free State in South Africa will be back to defend their title against stiff opposition from a line-up that also features Leicester Tigers, Ulster and Australia’s Brisbane-based Gold Coast Breakers.
